Rethinking retinal detachment surgery

Current retinal detachment surgery commonly relies on gas or silicone oil to hold the retina in position after repair. Although effective, these tamponade agents can delay visual rehabilitation and may require postoperative positioning, restrict air travel and contribute to additional complications or procedures.

Our goal is to develop a bioadhesive approach that reduces or eliminates the need for conventional intraocular tamponade—allowing earlier visual recovery and a less burdensome experience for patients.

From research to clinical translation

Our technology has demonstrated promising results in preclinical development. We are now advancing the scientific, manufacturing and regulatory work required to support future clinical evaluation.
